Finished! Looks like this project is out of data at the moment!

Thank you to all of the volunteers that have contributed to the completion of not just one but three workflows!

The Team

Our Team:

Dr Gavin Thomas | Project Lead | Evolutionary biologist interested in understanding how and why life became so diverse.

Dr Chris Cooney | Post-doctoral Researcher | Evolutionary biologist studying the causes of trait evolution and consequences of this for speciation.

Zoë Varley | Research Assistant | Museologist with a passion for the history, value & uses of collections.

Lara Nouri | Research Assistant | Zoologist and photographer, passionate about birds.

Many people have contributed towards getting our research to this stage. Michael Jardine, Emma Hughes, Elliot Capp, Will Wood, and Jade Hanning have made invaluable contributions to photographing museum species. We are especially grateful for the efforts of Chris Moody who lead the design of the photography set-up in the early days of the project and was a photography machine – thanks Chris. More about our team, past and present, and the work on our can be found on our lab website.

Special thanks must go to the Natural History Museum, especially Mark Adams and the rest of the Bird Group curators, who have been so generous with their time and use of the collections.
