Finished! Looks like this project is out of data at the moment!

Thank you to all of the volunteers that have contributed to the completion of not just one but three workflows!

Education

Our project wouldn’t be possible without the Natural History Museum’s incredible bird collections and our data will eventually be available to everyone via the NHM Data Portal.

In order to better understand avian evolutionary diversity, we have also been looking at beak shape through a separate citizen science project – MarkMyBird.org. This project is ongoing and open for all to browse our gallery or contribute by landmarking 3D scans, taken from specimens at the Natural History Museum and Manchester Museum. Genus level sampling of data from this project (3D scans included!) is already available via the NHM data portal and the first paper using this data was published earlier this year.

If you are interested in learning more about our research at this stage or have ideas about how our data could be used for education or general interest, we’d love to hear from you!
