**6/28/2022 Update **

Wow!

We're so excited to have had such a successful Beta Launch! Thanks to you all for your time, energy, and excitement!

Here's a quick wrap up of what we learned from you all:

First, we uploaded subset of our Geranium species to test our workflow. The 5 species you worked through include:

Geranium aspheloides (128 images)

Geranium atlanticum (53 images)

Geranium gracile (71 images)

& last but not lease, Geranium platypetalum (58 images)

You all answered a series of questions to help us classify anther color from our images.
These were the results:

Of our 393 images (from all 5 species), 27% of them were clear & contained anthers!
That might seem like a small percentage, but we are very excited about those numbers. Many Geranium species have far more than 50-100 research grade images on iNaturalist, so when we fully launch, this project will create a lot of useful data!

We also got really helpful feedback on how to improve our task workflow. Here's a summary of what y'all thought about the project:

We were really happy to hear from you all that we successfully communicated the goals of our research and that our direction was clear (for the most part!). We noticed that the task guidance (tutorial, help text, and field guide) was not highlighted in this launch, so we've made them more easily accessible for this next launch. We also learned that classifying anthers as ONE color doesn't make sense -- so we've included a few more specific questions (anther color vs. pollen color vs. anther margin color) to provide clarity on the task.

If you've read this far, thanks so much for your enthusiasm for our project. We are so excited to have you join us on this journey!
