The Team

Project Lead
Grace is currently pursuing an MA in Medieval Studies at Fordham University. She has been involved in a number of digital humanities projects, many of which focus on medieval London. As a Contributing Editor for the Medieval Londoners project (MLD), she researched the women of London's medieval craft guilds, and she is now the Project Manager for Medieval New York, a public-facing project that aims to identify the medieval elements of modern NYC (architecture, artifacts, influence, etc.) and develop related walking itineraries. This project forms the basis of her MA thesis, "Digital Humanities and Collaborative Research in Medieval Studies: Crowdsourcing the Get to Know Medieval Londoners Project," which examines the potential of crowdsourcing and volunteer-research collaboration to contribute to historical scholarship.

Other Contributors
Maryanne Kowaleski is Professor Emerita of History and Medieval Studies at Fordham University and the Project Manager for MLD. She has been instrumental to the development of this project at every stage, from sourcing scans of the deeds and testing workflows to proofreading website copy and establishing connections with the Institute for Historical Research, the London Metropolitan Archives, and the UK National Archives.
Elizabeth (Liz) Duchovni is also an MA student in Medieval Studies at Fordham University. She is an Associate Editor and Data Developer and Analyst for Medieval Londoners. She is helping with the data processing for this project, especially converting the Get to Know Medieval Londoners data into a format suitable for MLD.
