Finished! Looks like this project is out of data at the moment!
Veselin Kostov is a research scientist at SETI Institute and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. His research focus is on detection, vetting and characterization of transiting exoplanets and multiple stellar systems from Kepler, K2, and TESS, with the goal of understanding how these form, evolve, and compare to the Solar System.
Aline U. Fornear studied Engineering back in her university days but then rediscovered her love for Astronomy later on. She's now an active citizen scientist, volunteering with cool projects like Planet Patrol (listed as a co-author on the papers) and Disk Detective here on Zooniverse for a number of years.
Marco Zaccaria Di Fraia holds a PhD in Visual Based Autonomous Systems for Space Exploration from Cranfield University. He also holds an MSc in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, and a BEng in Aerospace Engineering, both from the University of Naples “Federico II”. He is currently pursuing a MSc in Sustainable Development at SOAS University of London. His obsession with space stems from wanting to find an answer to the millennia-old question "Are there kittens out there?". You can generally find him on Talk boards raving about interesting stars and stellar systems.
Julien de Lambilly is a citizen astronomer from Switzerland and is highly motivated about all citizen science programs related to exoplanets. When not participating in the Planet Patrol or Eclipsing Binary Patrol program, he tries to detect exoplanet transits from his backyard as a member of the Unistellar and SETI's citizen science network.
John Yablonsky worked for many years as a recording studio musician. In 2012, he became Director of a non-profit organization that distributed food and clothing to the poor. Subsequent to that, John returned to his lifelong interest in astronomy. He is currently a volunteer on the Planet Patrol and Burst Chaser projects on Zooniverse.
Hugo A. Durantini Luca (Former IATE-OAC, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba-CONICET) is an astronomy student in UNC-Famaf (Facultad de Matemática, Astronomía y Física) from Córdoba, Argentina. Hugo was part of the TOROS project, which aimed to perform an astronomical survey of the southern hemisphere sky in search of optical transients as counterparts for the gravitational wave observatory LIGO. He has been involved in several Zooniverse Citizen Science projects, including Disk Detective, Gravity Spy, and has been part of the Burst Chaser team since 2020. You can follow him on X
Manya Sharma is a citizen scientist who also volunteers at the Young Scientists Journal and writes newsletters for them. She hopes to start her further education this year, studying mathematics and physics at university.
Cledison Marcos da Silva is a citizen scientist with a primary interest in variable stars. He has degree in Pedagogy and Physics, and a postgraduate degree in Teaching Astronomy and Natural Sciences. His studies are related to young and cataclysmic stars. He performs CCD photometry and visual observations for AAVSO and contributes to international research and campaigns related to these stars. He is also involved in other Zooniverse projects, such as Disk Detective, Kilonova Seekers and Planet Hunters TESS, among others. He is also a collaborator on the Hunting Outbursting Young Stars project which observes star formation regions with the aim of studying their members and possible members. You can follow him on X at @CledisonMarcos.
Sovan Acharya is from Delhi, India. He has B.Sc from North Bengal University, a Diploma in Civil Engineering from MALDA POLYTECHNIC and completed many certificated course from IIT's, IISc. Also worked as Assistant Construction Manager in L&T Construction on many projects around india. He is currently founding SA Citizen Science Group and SA Citizen Science Lab. His hobbies include astrophotography, participating in citizen science projects and encouraging others to get involved. Sovan has participated in the Planet Hunter TESS, Planet Patrol, Bennu Mapper, Hubble Asteroid Hunters, galaxy Cruise, and Supernova Hunters projects, and in the discovery of asteroids (preliminary and provisional) by IASC. Sovan is also team member of BURST CHASER project.
Michiharu Hyogo has worked as a lecturer in Experimental Physics at Meisei University, Japan. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Astronomy from the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 2005. He received a master’s degree in Astronomy from the Australian National University in 2010 and another master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Canberra in 2012. He has been an active participant in Disk Detective since its launch in 2014. Currently, he is working on two research topics related to Disk Detective, Backyard Worlds: Planet 9, and the Eclipsing Binary Patrol. You can follow him on Twitter @HyogoMichiharu.
