The Team

MEET THE TEAM

The team consists of members of the solar physics group of INAF observatory of Rome and the Sun-Climate group of Max Planck institute for solar system research.

Dr. Theodosios Chatzistergos - Project Leader and Postdoctoral researcher at MPS

I was born and raised on Kos island in Greece. I did my BSc in physics at the National and Kapodestrian university of Athens in Greece. Followed by an MSc in astronomy and astrophysics at Queen Mary university of London, in the UK and a PhD in physics at Max Planck institute for solar system research, in Göttingen, Germany, where I currently work as a postdoctoral researcher.
I am an astrophysicist with a keen interest in historical solar observations and their implications for understanding past solar magnetism as well as long-term changes in solar activity and irradiance and their influence on Earth.

Dr. Ilaria Ermolli - Researcher at INAF Osservatorio Astronomico di Roma

I was born in Rome, Italy, where I have been living since. I got a Laurea in Physics from University of Rome Tor Vergata and then a post-Laurea degree in Physics applied to Medicine from University of Rome Sapienza. I am a solar physicist whose main interests are in solar variability and instrumentation for solar observations. I like to look at the Sun!

Dr. Fabrizio Giorgi - Technologist at INAF Osservatorio Astronomico di Roma

I was born in Rome, Italy, and have always lived around here. I got a Laurea in Physics from University of Rome Tor Vergata and right after started to work at Osservatorio Astronomico di Roma. I am a solar physicist running daily solar observations, if weather permits it, and dealing with many other activities, which include coding, data analysis, and laboratory work.
