Norman Johnson, The Ohio State University: Norm Johnson is the Moser Chair in Arthropod Biosystematics and Biological Diversity at Ohio State with a joint appointment in the Department of Evolution, Ecology & Organismal Biology and the Department of Entomology. He is also Director of the C.A. Triplehorn Insect Collection. His research interests are in parasitoid wasps, particularly all things Platygastroidea: alpha taxonomy, phylogeny, evolution, speciation, genomics, and chemosensory abilities.
Luciana Musetti, The Ohio State University: As the Curator of the Triplehorn Insect Collection, Luciana is leading the effort to upgrade the curatorial status of vast portions of the collection's holdings, including the beetles. She and her co-authors recently published a catalogue of all beetle primary types held in the collection (Musetti, Molotievskiy, & Johnson, 2020). Luciana believes in education and mentoring and is keen on reaching out to the community. Outside of work she likes reading, listening to music, gardening, and observing/photographing live insects in their natural habitat.
Sara Hemly, The Ohio State University: Sara Hemly is a Collections Management Assistant at the Triplehorn Insect Collection, The Ohio State University. She began working at the collection as a student research assistant and took a staff position after graduating from OSU with B.A. in Political Science. Her main responsibilities include collection curation, specimen digitization, and working with undergraduate student assistants in the collection. She enjoys being able to help enhance the collection and make valuable specimens and data available to the scientific community.
Alejandro Figueroa-Ripoll, The Ohio State University: Alejandro Figueroa-Ripoll is a Collections Management Assistant at the Triplehorn Insect Collection. He graduated from the Ohio State University with a degree in Zoology. He worked in the collection as a student and continues to work as a staff member, working with a variety of orders. Currently he leads the collection’s imaging efforts while training students and maintaining quality control. He has played an integral role in the imaging of the tiger beetle specimens and is excited to bring a part of the Triplehorn Insect Collection to the community.
