The Team

Kaley Keldsen - Project Leader

Headwaters Corporation of Kearney, Nebraska
B.S. in Park Management and Natural Resources

Kaley is a wildlife biologist who has experience implementing biological studies and specializes in photographic data collection research. She is very proficient at threatened and endangered species productivity and abundance monitoring, predator identification and control, and database management. Kaley is currently working towards her M.S. at the University of Nebraska, Kearney, studying predator behaviors and identification at interior least tern and piping plover off-channel nesting sites along the Central Platte River. She is very interested in predator-prey relationships and hopes the results of this study will help identify specific predators that prey on these threatened and endangered species. Kaley plans to use the results of this study to help direct future management activities to further reduce predation on these species.

Kari Mohlman - Researcher

Headwaters Corporation of Kearney, Nebraska
B.S. in Wildlife Biology

Kari is a wildlife biologist who has experience implementing biological studies and specializes in endangered species data collection research. She is very proficient at threatened and endangered species productivity and abundance monitoring, ground water and wet meadow monitoring data collection. Kari also has experience with banding interior least terns and piping plovers. Kari assists the project leader and has been evaluating photographs and assisting with the QA/QC process.

Patrick Farrell

Headwaters Corporation of Kearney, Nebraska
M.S. Wildlife Sciences
B.S. Biology: Natural Resources
Graduate Certificate in Data Analysis

Patrick is a Statistical Ecologist who develops and conducts a variety of statistical analyses for water resource and biological projects. He also provides statistical consulting for experimental design and implementation and has experience coding within statistical software programs, evaluating wildlife habitat selection, and analyzing wildlife population dynamics. Recent projects have included identification and prediction of channel form and function of a braided river system and ecological resource selection for federally listed avian species. Patrick also has experience with Structured Decision Making (SDM), Bayesian modeling, and GPS/GIS spatial modeling.

Peter Mason - Coder

MSc in Physics
Peter is retired and a self taught coder (Python) who thinks Zooniverse is a very worthwhile endeavour so he helps out however he can with project building and data analysis. Peter helped Kaley with specific coding for her project and made things possible and ready for launch. Kaley suggests if you are thinking about creating a Zooniverse project, contact Peter first!
