 | Michael Swan is a Master’s student researcher with the Interaction Lab at the University of Southern California. His work is currently centered around robots capable of fully autonomous exploration and human interaction. In collaboration with a team at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Michael develops AI models capable of understanding terrain on Mars. Michael graduated from Walla Walla University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, worked for the U.S. Navy for 3+ years, and then returned to school at USC for his Master's degree.  | Olivier Lamarre is a Ph.D. student with the Space and Terrestrial Autonomous Robotic Systems (STARS) Laboratory at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on enabling long-term and resource-aware autonomy onboard planetary rovers, in collaboration with the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. She earned her MS from the MIT Media Lab. With an BFA in Illustration-Entertainment Art designing vehicles, props and environments for feature film animation from Art Center College of Design, she uses design thinking methods and techniques to imagine the future of technology in space. |
 | Giacomo Cerretti is a NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) fellow at JPL. He holds a BSc and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Chemistry. His work focuses on the development of new and more performing materials to improve the efficiencies of RTGs (Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators) to power deep-space spacecraft for exploratory missions. |
