Education

Can I use Indigo Snake Watch in the classroom?
Absolutely! Indigo Snake Watch offers students a unique opportunity to participate directly in threatened species conservation. The workflow is simple enough that we expect volunteers of all ages to be able to participate. Additionally, each image is marked by multiple volunteers, so it's not a problem if students don't identify and mark all of the snakes correctly.

What resources are there for teachers that would like to include indigo snakes in their lessons?
The FWC's indigo snake species profile is a good place to start.
The Florida Museum of Natural History also has a great guide to the snakes of Florida, including ID information, species profiles, and advice for living alongside our slithery neighbors.

Where can I read about results from Indigo Snake Watch?
We will post project updates regarding the indigo snake reintroduction efforts and Indigo Snake Watch Zooniverse project in the "Results" tab above.
