FAQ
What if I get the text wrong?
That is okay. We have three people each reviewing the text before it is retired. Then, our curators and librarians will review before adding the new information to our digital collections.
What will happen with the work that I have done?
Once a document has been fully transcribed by multible people and there is a majority concensus on the text, we will retire it from this project. Then, the Digital Collections department will take that text and add it to the online image in the Libraries' Digital Collections so that people can easily read the letters and search on the text.
When will you add the transcriptions to the collections?
We cannot give an exact date or time for when the data will be added to the collections, but we are very excited to add this new content and will make it a priority. We will probably look at the Zooniverse content once a month and if we have a decent amount of results, then we will add them within the next month.
Will the transcriptions be shared with the public?
Yes, they will become part of our publicly available digital collections at USC Libraries.
