About Heritage Combs

The earliest use of the comb can be traced to as far back as 5,000 years ago. Over time and across cultures, combs have evolved through different shapes, materials, and decoration styles. We've gathered hundreds of images of combs from the digital collections of museums around the world. Now, we want to hear what you think of them!

To help us investigate the factors which affect the value of combs, you will be asked 5 multiple choice questions for each comb. There's also an optional question where you can leave additional comments.

Note: You only have to complete as many questions as you fancy! You don't have to look at hundreds of combs unless you want to.

Please only participate in this project if you are 18+ years old. By participating, you consent to this data being used in a student research project for the University College London (UCL) MSc Data Science for Cultural Heritage programme.
