Would you like to use our data for your own research?

We are in the process of releasing our data to the public. A first batch of data is available through LiLA BC. More will be released soon!

Want to learn more about the birds you see in the drone images?

You can find more info about many of the common species of birds in our Field Guide in the classification workflow.
If you'd like to learn more about the National Wildlife Refuge System and how the US Fish and Wildlife Service supports populations of migratory birds, check out their site here.

Want to learn more about the drones we used to capture these images?

The imagery from Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge was captured using a Sensefly EBEE+; this model has been discontinued, but you can view information on a similar drone here. The EBEE+ was equipped with a S.O.D.A. photogrammetric camera.
Early imagery from Bosque del Apache was captured using a DJI Mavic Pro 2, equipped with a Hasselblad L1D-20c camera prior to 2020; to comply with federal regulations about drone flight over lands managed by the Department of the Interior, we have since switched to a Wingtra One Gen II equipped with a Sony RX1RII camera.
