Why did you pick these four patterns over any others?
Going through many images we noticed that these four appear pretty commonly. Further, we currently do not quite know what physical processes are responsible for creating these patterns. For this reason we need more data on these patterns.
I am having a hard time distinguishing pattern X/Y.
That is ok. Part of this project is to find out whether humans even agree on these clouds patterns. If in doubt, just go for your gut feeling. There is no wrong or right solution for every image.
