Mathias Tobler

Mathias (e-mail) is the director of the Population Sustainability group at the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance. His research focuses on the population and spatial ecology of large mammals using tools such as camera traps and GPS collars combined with novel statistical modeling techniques. He has been studying large mammals in the Peruvian Amazon for over a decade; including tapirs, jaguars, pumas and peccaries.


Mark Bowler

Mark (e-mail) is a Lecturer in Wildlife, Ecology and Conservation Science at the University of Suffolk, UK, and a Research Associate at the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, working on wildlife population biology and sustainability in the Amazon region. Mark has worked in the Amazon for 18 years and has a current focus on canopy mammals (research website).
