Try out drawing on these streams with the Experiment platform - click here and select the Stellar Streams workflow. Experiment is external to Zooniverse. See this blog post for details.

Also, this project recently migrated onto Zooniverse’s new architecture. For details, see here.

The Team

Dr. Nathaniel Starkman

Brinson Prize Fellow and Postdoctoral Associate at MIT. He researches the detection, characterization, and modelling of stellar streams as a tool to map the dark matter shaping our universe.

Jake Nibauer

Graduate student at Princeton. He researches the characterization and modelling of stellar streams to understand dark matter on scales large and small.

Prof. Sarah Pearson

Professor at the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen. Sarah is an eminent galactic dynamicist researching galactic collisions, stellar streams, galactic bars, and dark matter.

Dr. Mike Walmsley

Postdoctoral Dunlap Fellow at the University of Toronto. Mike researches galaxy evolution and is Technical Lead for citizen science project Galaxy Zoo.

Sirui Wu

Graduate student at the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen. Working with Prof. SARAH PEARSON, Sirui researches extragalactic stellar streams.
