We're opening the project again to make sure folks can contribute to every image and increase the responses per images! Happy cloudspotting! Also note, this project recently migrated onto Zooniverse’s new architecture. For details, see here.

The Team

Team Members

Matteo Crismani - Assistant Professor at CSU San Bernardino studying mesospheric clouds on Mars using MAVEN and TGO, as well as meteoric ions at Mars. Earned his PhD from the University of Colorado Boulder as part of the MAVEN team investigating how Mars's atmosphere evolved over billions of years. As a participating scientist on the upcoming Japanese Martian Moons eXplorer mission, he will investigate the link between interplanetary dust and high altitude clouds at Mars.

Marek Slipski - Research Scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory studying mesospheric clouds on Mars using the Mars Climate Sounder. Earned his PhD from the University of Colorado Boulder as part of the MAVEN team investigating how Mars's atmosphere evolved over billions of years. Enjoys long runs in mountain trails, playing the drums, catching frisbees, and nerding out about baseball.

Armin Kleinboehl - Deputy Principal Investigator of the Mars Climate Sounder at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He is also a Participating Scientist of the Japanese Akatsuki Venus Climate Orbiter mission. He is an expert in airborne and spaceborne remote sensing and conducts research on the thermal and aerosol structure of the atmospheres of Mars and Venus as well as on the structure and composition of Earth's middle atmosphere.
