Steven Pennings is a Professor in the Department of Biology and Biochemistry and the University of Houston. He works on salt marsh ecology and is one of the lead investigators for the Georgia Coastal Ecosystems Long Term Ecological Research project on Sapelo Island, GA, USA.
Brian Hopkinson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Georgia. He has been working on environmental applications of computer vision and machine learning as part of this project.
Suchendra Bhandarkar is a Professor in the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Georgia. His research interests are in the areas of Computer Vision, Image Processing, Computer Graphics and Multimedia Systems. He has been working to apply deep learning tools to automate analysis of ecological imagery.
Jacob Simon is a PhD student in the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Georgia. He is working to apply computer vision to accelerate salt marsh ecology.
Likitha Karnati is a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Georgia. She is working as a developer for this project.
