Finished! Looks like this project is out of data at the moment!
THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS! Transcriptions for the Beyond Borders project are complete. We're now working on reviewing and approving the content for addition to the Maine Memory Network.
We're so thankful for the tremendous efforts of the Zooniverse community in transcribing the thousands of pages related to the Kennebec and Pejepscot Proprietors collections and the Barclay Northeast Boundary collection. These transcriptions will allow us to provide much wider access to these materials in terms of readability and searchability. Being able to view digital versions and consult transcriptions will dramatically reduce handling of these popular collections-ensuring their continued preservation.
All three collections are now digitally available on the Maine Memory Network's Beyond Border's Project Site. Our staff is working on reviewing and formatting the Zooniverse transcriptions, which will be attached to the Maine Memory records for each volume and folder. Currently, transcriptions for Vol. 1/Shelf Vol. 3 of Collection 60, the Kennebec Proprietors are available and serve as an example of our goal for the remaining transcriptions.
