If you're just starting on this project use 'Practice Count' to learn how to identify cell types and compare your answers to expert classifications in the field guide. Next you have a choice of two levels to work on: 'Easier Count' or 'Stomatal count'. We need your help with both sets but Easier Count allows you to improve your skills while you count. Stomatal Count is great for once you're feeling more confident and are ready to tackle tougher images.

About Fossil Atmospheres

Ginkgo trees evolved before the dinosaurs, survived three mass extinctions, and one species is still living today. We are researching how the cells of leaves on ginkgos have changed over time, and whether we can use them to learn about the ancient atmosphere of the Earth.
