Thanks to the work of more than 1800 of you, we've completed the first stage of the project! We're going through the results now and will have new workflows for you to help with in the coming months.
Jason Tallant is Data Manager at the University of Michigan Biological Station (UMBS), where it is his responsibility to aggregate and publish, via the stations local web-based repository and affiliate data repositories, the data and associated products of research and teaching at UMBS. His work includes collaboration with undergraduate students as Principal Investigators to ensure collection of quality data, long-term curation of data sets, and formatting for ubiquitous sharing of open data.
Justin Schell directs the Shapiro Design Lab at the University of Michigan Library. In addition to his work at the University, he is a member of the Citizen Science Association and Co-Chair of its Metadata & Data Working Group. He holds a PhD in Cultural Studies from the University of Minnesota and is a former Council on Library and Information Resources Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Minnesota Library. As part of his work at Minnesota, he founded the Minnesota Hip-Hop Collection, an archive of the history of hip-hop in the state.
Kelly Hovinga is a project assistant on community and citizen science at the Shapiro Design Lab at the University of Michigan Library. Since joining the Shapiro Design Lab team, she has contributed to the creation of community + citizen science resources, projects, and educational outreach events. She received her Masters in Information Science from the University of Michigan School of Information, and holds a Masters in Russian History from the Ohio State University.
Martha Stuit works with Deep Blue, the institutional repository, at the University of Michigan Library. She has been both Summer Librarian and a student at the Biological Station. She is a librarian, writer, and former reporter.
Jim Ottaviani is a librarian at the University of Michigan, and has been working on Deep Blue since its launch in 2006.
Scott Martin is the Biological Sciences Librarian at the University of Michigan Library; his responsibilities include collection oversight for the University of Michigan Biological Station Library and library support for the Station's research and teaching activities.
