Finished! Looks like this project is out of data at the moment!
I get a "not allowed to create this discussion" error message when I try to post on a discussion board. What is going wrong?
A. Some new users receive a "not allowed to create this discussion" error message when trying to post on the discussion board for an image. Zooniverse maintains an email verification system which prevents unverified users from posting comments. This helps protect projects from being inundated with spam and bot-generated comments. Zooniverse requires users to register for an account in order to comment, and when you register you should receive an email from Zooniverse asking you to verify your email account.
If you registered for an account but aren't able to comment, your account may not have been verified. Please check your email to see if you received a message from Zooniverse, either in your inbox or in your spam folder. If you can't find it, or inadvertently deleted it, you can use this link to re-send the verification email: https://panoptes.zooniverse.org/users/confirmation/new. Once you have confirmed your account, you should be able to interact fully with the project discussion boards.
How do I exit the "Need Help with This Task?" pop-up window and get back to the specimen I was working on?
A. There is an X in the top right corner of the help pop-up window, but its background is translucent so it may be difficult to see if the page behind it is a light color. If you scroll down through the whole help window, there is also a blue "Close" button in the bottom left corner. Clicking either the X or the Close button should close the help window and take you back to the specimen you were working on.
Can I edit my responses after submitting them?
A. No, the Zooniverse developers have made a conscious decision to not allow edits after a response has been submitted by clicking Done, so please do your best to submit the most accurate responses you can. While you're working on a single specimen, you can click "Back" to review and change your responses to each question. Clicking "Done" or "Done & Talk" submits your responses and they cannot be edited after that point.
Do your best, but don't worry if you've made an error. More than one volunteer transcribes each label and we compare responses to get a consensus transcription, so the occasional typo is not a disaster. You can explore the Zooniverse FAQ and Talk pages to learn more about how the system is designed.
Is there a way to make the image window any bigger?
A. The page setup in Zooniverse is standard, with the workspace in the center of the screen with the specimen image on the left half and the instructions and text entry boxes on the right. We cannot change this layout, but you can use the zoom and pan functions to get a better view of the specimen labels. We show the full herbarium sheet so that you can scan it for all relevant labels, then zoom in to transcribe.
