Finished! Looks like this project is out of data at the moment!
Dr Eva Chatzinikolaou
She is the scientific responsible for the Citizen Science activities of the Nautilos EU project. She is working as a research fellow in the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research - Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture. Her research focuses on climate change, ocean acidification, micro-CT tomography, marine biodiversity and intertidal ecology. She has wide experience in the organisation of environmental education and citizen science awareness actions. In “Marine Creatures” she is involved in coordinating everything!
Dr Vasilis Gerovasileiou
He is an Assistant Professor of marine and coastal biodiversity in the Department of Environment of the Ionian University. His research focuses on marine biodiversity, benthic ecology, taxonomy and biogeography of sessile benthic invertebrates. He is also interested in non-indigenous species, underwater sampling and marine conservation. In “Marine Creatures” he is involved in seabed image processing.
Markos Digenis
He is a PhD student whose research focuses on benthic communities in marine caves of the Mediterranean Sea, as well as on the spatial distribution patterns of non-indigenous species in marine cave environments. He is a caver and scientific diver and in “Marine Creatures” he is responsible for providing information and photos on benthic biodiversity.
Ioannis Rallis
He is an MSc Marine Biologist specializing in visual census identifications of benthos with particular focus in alien species. He is very excited about being a part of the “Marine Creatures” team because it perfectly aligns with his interests to instill knowledge about all living organisms in the marine environment.
Georgia Sarafidou
She is a marine biologist with experience in macrobenthic assemblages and has been involved in data management and citizen science projects. She is also interested in rescuing and curating historical biodiversity data. In “Marine Creatures” she is mostly in charge of building the workflow and communicating with the Zooniverse team.
