1. Is this a labeling or classification project?
a) This is a classification project. We are trying to generalize areas where abnormalities may be seen, but in terms of professionally labeling those areas, this isn't within the capabilities of this survey.
2. Will you look at professionally pre-labeled data?
a) We do aim to actually look at professionally pre-labeled Physician data through openly available repositories. This allows us to input a degree of accuracy outside of generic "area labeling".
3. What is the point of AI in medical diagnostic imaging?
a) Outside of areas such as automation, cost efficiency and image enhancement, many people in this field also want to look into the accessibility issue or ways to decrease human error.
4. How will the survey results be released?
a) We plan on openly releasing the results foremost in the results tab, as well as doing blog posts, preprints, and possibly open models/scientific journal entries on the basis of these results.
5. Do I need to be a Radiologist to participate in the Zooniverse labeling?
a) The main point of this is to add another layer related to the training, but not in order to create professionally labeled or diagnostic data. Since the classification tasks and terms are very generic, one just needs to do the tasks to the best of their ability. In short, the answer is NO. The survey is open to everybody.
