Help us study plant growth and train a model for automated analysis!
Learn moreWe've created two workflows, "Tag marrchantia gemma cups" is our main objective. "Tell us how good the images are" will help us put a quality control system in place.

Marchantia polymorpha belong to a group of plants without roots, leaves or flowers. We want to use it to understand how plant mature and grow.
Fancy a Cup of Marchantia? Our objective is to build a model to detect and count gemma cups - the little rings on the upper surface of the plant - in Marchantia plants. To that end we need annotated images to establish the ground truth. We will also ask you to rate the quality of the image so that we can also build a quality control model.
Marchantia can be found all around the world in wet habitats. You can spot them on sidewalks in British cities or the small streets of remote villages in the mountains.
Why do we care about gemma cup in Marchantia? Marchantia can be used to understand how plants, in general, grow and how growth can be promoted. Counting gemma cup give information on the plant maturity, and could help identify ways to get mature plants faster!
