We have two kinds of activities: transcribing & finding the names in the documents. Transcribe (printed) and Find the Names (printed) are the most beginner friendly places to start. If an activity has the word "Manuscript" that means you will need to read cursive. Note: the asterisks on each activity indicate the level of difficulty, from the easiest * to the most complex ones ****.

This project is working to rediscover the life and writings of Mary Ann Shadd Cary, a lawyer, journalist, and activist for civil rights in the United States and Canada. This project is a celebration of Mary Ann Shadd Cary's 200th birthday in 2023!
