## Using The Fugitive Caribbean Project in the Classroom ##

We encourage the use of this project in classrooms. The process of finding, clipping, and transcribing ads has involved students, archivists, teachers, and many other different actors. We are currently developing pedagogy materials for instructors to use in their classrooms. Please check back here for updates on these materials.

Education

The Fugitive Caribbean Project focuses on fugitive slave ads from the Barbados Mercury (1762-1848). Transcriptions and creative responses submitted through this site contribute to the ongoing efforts of the Early Caribbean Digital Archive to develop a database of Early Caribbean fugitivity.
