A mark of Enonkishu’s success will be the expansion of the conservancy northwards, re-claiming land that has been lost to agriculture and expanding the Mara-Serengeti Ecosystem.

About Snapshot Enonkishu

Hundreds of camera traps spread across the continent are providing a powerful new window into the dynamics of Africa's most elusive wildlife species. We need your help to classify all the different animals caught in millions of camera trap images. These images come from Enonkishu Conservancy. Located right on the northern boundary of the Mara-Serengeti Ecosystem and representing 32 Maasai families, Enonkishu promotes the coexistence between wildlife and livestock as an essential component to build stability in the Mara landscape. A mark of Enonkishu’s success will be the expansion of the conservancy northwards, re-claiming land that has been lost to agriculture and expanding the Mara-Serengeti Ecosystem.

Classified data and bulk image downloads for Season 1 of Snapshot Enonkishu are available through the Labeled Image Library of Alexandria (LILA). Additional ecological metadata available upon request by emailing Sarah Huebner of the University of Minnesota Lion Center at huebn090@umn.edu with details about your research questions.
