The Team

Main Personnel

Keanu Vasquez has recently completed his Sophmore year at JJC and is pursuing an Electrical Engineering Degree. He has been primarily responsible for finding ways to actively promote the project by creating social media website and creating newsletters for the Zooniverse members.

Dr. Andrew Morrison is the project director for the Steelpan Vibrations project. He is an associate professor of physics at Joliet Junior College. He received his Ph.D. in physics from Northern Illinois University in 2005, focusing on sound radiation from steelpans and phase-mapping of steelpan resonances. He currently serves as the chair of the Technical Committee on Musical Acoustics of the Acoustical Society of America.

Other Collaborators

We are indebted to our collaborators on this project, especially Dr. Thomas Moore and his students at Rollins College. It is with their help and using their high-speed electronic speckle pattern interferometry equipment that we were able to acquire the images for use in this project.

Project Alumni

Joseph Garcia is a sophomore at Joliet Junior College majoring in electrical engineering. He has been responsible for developing the software for us to analyze the classifications made by volunteers to this project.
