Where does all this data go?
The Zoology Department at DMNS utilizes two online database systems to make our data publicly accessible. The data from our vertebrate (mammals, birds, and herps), marine invertebrate, and parasite collections are hosted at Arctos. The data associated with the specimens in our arachology and entomology collections are available through SCAN (Symbiota Collection of Arthropods Network). Data from this project will periodically be extracted, processed and then uploaded directly to these websites for distribution and use.
