Tim is a historian and hacker who researches the possibilities and politics of digital cultural collections. He has worked across the cultural heritage sector and has been developing online resources relating to libraries, archives, museums and history since 1993. Kate is a social historian whose research focuses on histories of the family, migration and the law in Australia and New Zealand. Kate is best known for her work on Chinese Australian history, particularly histories of women, children and families, and the history of the White Australia policy and its colonial beginnings. Kate also has a long interest in the Cantonese hometown districts of the Pearl River Delta and, in pre-COVID times, she led the Chinese Australian Hometown Heritage Tour to Hong Kong and Guangdong with Sophie Couchman.
