Finished! Looks like this project is out of data at the moment!
Dr. Sarah Benson-Amram is the principle investigator of the UWRP, and she oversees the work of the graduate and undergraduate students in the lab. There have been 2 graduate and 14 undergraduate students and 2 project managers working on this project since it originated in 2014!
Emily Davis is the project manager of the UWRP. She worked as an undergraduate technician for the project before becoming manager and assisted with many aspects of UWRP research, including behavioral coding of videos and tracking of VHF-collared raccoons. Emily now manages the daily operation of the UWRP, which includes tracking and monitoring of the raccoons, organizing animal trapping and release, and coordinating research efforts between UW students and the Laramie community.
Lauren Stanton is a PhD student working with the UWRP. She is interested in the behavior and cognition of urban wildlife, especially carnivores raccoons, skunks, and coyotes. Lauren designs different tests for animals using devices like puzzle boxes and automated feeders so that she can measure their learning and problem-solving abilities.
Rachel Fanelli, Emily Davis, Sarah Benson-Amram, and Lauren Stanton with Basil, the first ever raccoon captured as a part of the UWRP (2015).
