Every clip you review helps us find where terrapins gather along the South Shore. We can't be everywhere at once, so your eyes on this footage decide where we focus protection. Thank you for being part of this effort.

About Seatuck Environmental Association SSER Diamondback Terrapin Drone Survey

Diamondback terrapins are the only turtle in North America that lives exclusively in brackish coastal marshes, and Long Island's South Shore is critical habitat for the species. Seatuck Environmental Association is launching a new drone survey initiative across the South Shore Estuary Reserve to locate and count terrapin aggregations, but the volume of footage is too large for our small team to review alone.
That's where you come in. By watching short drone clips and marking the terrapins you spot, you help us build a population dataset that guides habitat protection and conservation planning across the SSER.
