## Q. How can I check out this project before deciding to continue? ##

A. Open the Tutorials and Field Guides to see the diversity of corals and coral communities in the study.


## Q. Does the type of thing you mark have to overlap with the exact center of a circle before it is counted? ##

A. No. Count all the circles which are overlapped by the same type of thing that you just marked. 


## Q.  Once I start classifying, should I make guess if poor image resolution makes classification difficult? ##

A. No.  We prefer you to focus on the obvious things in the scenes. If you are sure it's a hard coral, first select 'hard coral', then select 'can't tell' in the next step.



Follow changes in Great Barrier Reef corals from 1980 to 2000. You mark what you see and answer two simple questions and classify the 'thing' (optional)

Follow the coral

We ask you to simply mark what you see in an area of about 1 square meter, and score its abundance into one of four ranges:
1, 
2-5, 
6-10, or
More than 10.

Then, to give us an indication of how much of the reef that type of thing covers, simply tell us how many of five circles on the screen intercept that type of thing.  

There are sometimes several distinct types to mark on any single scene, but there may be none at all in damaged sites.
