Finished! Looks like this project is out of data at the moment!
This project is a joint venture between students and faculty from California Polytechnic State University, the University of California at Santa Cruz, and Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. Here are the team members!
Hello! My name is Allyson and I am a fourth-year Biology and Chinese major at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. I am so excited to be learning more about rattlesnake behavior with you all!
My name is Brandon and I'm a junior in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology program at U.C. Santa Cruz. I'm also a field technician for the Stanford Conservation Program where I have been working on the conservation management of California Red-legged Frogs and California Tiger Salamanders. I'm excited to be working on rattlesnakes with this team and with all of you!
Hello! My name is Julia and I am a fourth-year Biological Sciences major at California Polytechnic State University. I am so excited to discover more about the fascinating relationship between female rattlesnakes and their pups. Thank you to all community scientists for your dedication to Project Rattlecam!
Hi! My name is Madi McIntyre and I am a junior Biology and Anthropology major at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. I am thrilled to be working more with rattlesnakes and love working with all wildlife especially through field research. I am interested in pursuing graduate studies in Wildlife Biology and Conservation. Currently, I am interested in the rain-catching behavior exhibited by this rattlesnake population! I am so excited to work with the team and the Zooniverse community!
Hello! My name is Maggie and I am a fourth-year Biology major at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. I have been working in the Physiological and Ecological Reptile Lab (PERL) at Cal Poly for the past four years. I've done past research on the Blunt Nosed Leopard Lizard and the Western Fence Lizard. I'm excited to work with rattlesnakes alongside you!
Welcome to Rattlecam! My name is Zoe and I am a junior Biology and Environmental Science double major at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. I adore working with reptiles and intend to pursue a PhD in evolutionary biology with a concentration in herpetology. I am currently interested in understanding the relationships between the pregnant females at the rookery sites. Thank you for being part of Project Rattlecam with us!
My name is Scott Boback and I am an Associate Professor of Biology at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. I am a herpetologist focusing on ecological and evolutionary questions. While I have projects aimed at a variety of species, I have spent the majority of my career studying snakes. Previous work in my lab has focused on the physiology of snake constriction, the ecology of invasive species, and the population biology of cottonmouths.
I am a herpetologist, environmental physiologist, and Professor of Biological Sciences at the California Polytechnic State University. I have been studying mating systems and physiology of rattlesnakes for 25 years. This is my first venture into community science and I am just thrilled to spy on rattlesnakes alongside you all.
