Karen is a research scientist in agronomy and soil sciences (PhD), and an agroecosystem modeller. Since 2018, she's working at CIRAD - UMR SYSTEM, on the modelling of ecosystem services and the assessment of the resilience of cocoa-based agroforestry systems to climate change. Her research aims at producing knowledge and tools for farmers and policies makers to implement the agro-ecological transition of cocoa farming. Her strategy is to integrate multidisciplinary scientific expertise (agronomy, ecology, forestry, remote sensing) and empirical expertise into indicators and models.
Llorenç is an early-career scientist at INRAE-LEPSE. He obtained a PhD in 2010 in Plant Ecophysiology from the University of Barcelona and CIMMYT (Mexico). Since September 2013 he is the coordinator of the PhenoArch high-throughput plant phenotyping platform where he focuses his research in developing intelligent information systems to organise phenomics data, in combining tools and methods to characterize the environmental conditions as sensed by individual plants and to estimate plant growth, architecture and transpiration, with the final aim to extract valuable traits that can be used in crop modelling and genetics. He is also the technical coordinator across the PHENOME-EMPHASIS French Plant Phenotyping Infrastructureand an active member of the European Plant Phenotyping Network.
Juan Pablo is a PhD candidate in computer science at INRAE. Juan Pablo is a Mechatronics engineer and Msc in Electronics Engineering, passionate for the field of computer vision, data analysis, software development and embedded systems. Over 5+ years he has been working in the development of computer vision algorithms for mobile robotics and precision agriculture. He also works in projects related to the development of embedded systems for the control and measurement of environmental variables in crops and phenotyping platforms.
