We seek to create a future for New York City where wildlife is a familiar, understood, and indispensable part of our urban landscape.

About Where the Wild NYC Things Are

NYC Parks' Wildlife Unit has deployed game cameras in various parks throughout New York City's five boroughs. This project uses game cameras in Manhattan's Inwood Hill Park. Because of the volume of images collected over survey period, the Wildlife Unit needs YOUR help to classify images, and discover what species lives here.

Join us in this project to help us understand how species use the urban landscape. By knowing this, we can transition our way of thinking about cities to include green space and the wildlife that uses it!
