If you are unfamiliar with secretary hand (the style of handwriting common in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries), you may be better beginning with the Georgian Lynn workflow. Once you have become more confident with the format of the Hall Books and the type of information that they include, the Civil War Lynn workflow will seem much easier.

About King's Lynn Borough Archives

The King's Lynn Hall Books include minutes and memoranda of proceedings at congregations of the Mayor and community held in the Trinity Guildhall, including annual elections of the mayors and other officers, admissions of freemen, regulations for the conduct of the community's business, orders relating to trade, public health and local amenities and services and, in the earlier books, efforts to resolve disputes between Lynn merchants and their overseas trading partners.
