The Team

Dr Abigail Lowe
Abigail Lowe is a Community Science Officer at the Natural History Museum, where she leads the delivery of Nature Overheard. Her PhD research, undertaken at the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Bangor University used DNA metabarcoding to investigate pollinator foraging.

Ed Baker

Ed Baker is the Acoustic Biology Researcher at the Natural History Museum, London and has a research interest in how insects use sound to communicate and how this can be affected by noise. He studied physics at Imperial College before working on projects using technology to improve the study of biodiversity. He has previously worked on ‘acoustic observatories’ to identify grasshopper species in the wild using machine learning techniques at the University of York.

Dr Jessica Wardlaw
Jess Wardlaw is Community Science Programme Developer at the Natural History Museum where she designs and develops projects for members of the public to access the Museum’s collections and contribute to its scientific research. Jess has almost ten years’ experience in citizen science, including the Zooniverse projects “Slavery from Space” and “Mars in Motion” at the University of Nottingham.
