Where is Voorhis Ecological Preserve Located?

Voorhis is located north of the Cal Poly Pomona campus in Pomona, California.

Is the preserve accessible to the public?

There is a portion of the preserve that is accessible to the public using a cobblestone path on the eastern portion, however much of the preserve is inaccessible, lacking proper trails and having steep hillsides. Permission is required for all access and research.

What classes participate in Cal Poly Wild?

As of now, BIO1110 and BIO1110L Life Science courses in the Department of Biological Sciences at Cal Poly Pomona participate. In the future, we hope to expand to other courses at CPP.

Can I help set up the camera traps?

We are always looking for committed volunteers who are Cal Poly Pomona students (or San Gabriel Valley locals) interested in gaining experience in fieldwork and setting up camera traps. Please contact Dr. Ortiz by email (jortiz@cpp.edu) for more information.
