How can I contribute my own photos?

Every photo in this project has been captured by a community member using Jetsam. If you want to take part and contribute you own photos, all you have to do is download the app

How Many Images Should I classify?

As many as you can! Zooniverse will save your spot after each image that you classify, so you can take a break at any time without worrying about losing your place or being asked to classify the same image multiple times.

The picture contains fragments of plastic items, but not whole plastic items. How should I classify them?

The categories apply either to a whole item, or to a fragment of that item. For example, if a photo contained half of a cola bottle, you would still select "Plastic Bottle" as the category

I submitted my answers for an image, but I think I classified it incorrectly - what can I do?

Firstly, thanks for classifying some images! Each image is shown to many people to classify, and the final classification for an image will be chosen by aggregating all of the responses. This means that one or two "wrong" classifications will be filtered out as part of the process.

Choosing a classification can at times be quite subjective, so the classification you choose is also valuable for understanding how we all perceive the waste we see in our neighbourhoods

I saw a really interesting piece of waste in one of the photos, how can I share it?

There are two buttons under every photo - a "favourite" button that you can use to keep track of photos you like, and a "collections" button, where you can add a photo to a shareable collection
