Get ready for a mysterious journey and help us identify language and graphical objects in the most famous and still unencrypted manuscript on the world!
Learn moreThere is only one workflow that is based on the identification of language and objects in the manuscript. First, you will be asked to highlight anything that you might recognize (and add a brief description), and if you cannot describe anything specific but you have something to say, you can just add a general comment. The direct comment to the highlighted area can be added when you double click on the corner of the selection (when close selection). The text field appears there...

Welcome to the Voynich manuscript crowdsourced research page.
Voynich ManuscriptThis project believes in the possible use of the power of the human mind on analysis and categorization of an unknown text. We selected the Voynich Manuscript (VM) as it is the most famous illustration of a hand-written codex in an unknown writing system (amongst such books as the Book of Soyga, Codex Seraphinianus, the Ripley Scrolls, the Rohonc Codex, the Red Book). The timeline of the VM and its researching can be found in various research reports and publications or well-written chronologies. The VM is full of symbols that were partially interpreted and it is claimed that various plants, animals, minerals, and cities were deciphered. These claims, however, have not been verified. Other scholars have also examined the codex's properties. Unaffiliated researchers and hobbyists have also pursued investigations into the Voynich Manuscript.
However, it is still not enough. Voynich manuscript still resists all attempts to be read and understood. We would like to ask you to help us to identify the objects, letters, words and/or language origin of this book. Despite fact that a lot of people tried to „break this book“, no one succeeded and still, a lot of people have never heard about the manuscript. So there is still a chance that someone has the right clue that will lead to the solution.
