Learn moreThere are four phases, of which all require research (especially the internet for data collection) and citation. Phase 1 involves randomly receiving a plant, picking a category from a drop-down menu, and adding in relevant information along with a link to the source. Phase 2 will be a verification of information filled in by others to make sure they are correct. For Phase 3, citizen scientists scour and correct the database for mistakes. Phase 4 develops the general understanding of botanical families

About Edible Plants Database
The EPD is intended to help decrease food waste.
Once the database is complete, it will be available to the public. After the database is ready, a mobile app will be generated from the spreadsheet for easier and more portable access to its information.
