Who are the Essex Field Club

The Essex Field Club are a wildlife recording society based in Essex, UK. The Club has been going since the 1880's. Collections were once housed in the Essex Museum of Natural History, but are now housed at the Green Centre, Wat Tyler Country Park, Basildon, Essex.

The Essex Field Club is digitising their collections and archives to allow people from all over the world to access them for scientific purposes. Researchers are welcome to visit the centre. An appointment will need to be made as we run solely on volunteers.

Our archive project can be accessed here https://www.essexfieldclub.org.uk/portal.php/p/Unlocking+the+Natural+History+Heritage+of+Essex

Using the Dragonfly Records

The dragonfly records in this project can help identify populations across Essex's ponds, lakes, rivers and streams. Used in conjunction with current data, these records may help to show the spread of migrant species as well as identifying where populations have been lost.
