Dr Kellie Leigh
Kellie is the Executive Director and founder of Science for Wildlife. She has been a pioneer in bridging the gap between scientific research and on ground conservation action. Her research expertise includes conservation biology, genetics, behavioural ecology. Besides a passion for wildlife, her hobbies include painting, gardening, and going on bushwalks with her qualified detection dog Groot.
Dr Stefanie Bonat
Stef is one of the Conservation Ecologist for Science for Wildlife. Having completed her PhD at the University of Sydney, where she investigated the ecological effects of animal mass mortalities on an Australian alpine food web utilising camera traps. Her hobbies include gardening, and her full-time role training her growing detection dog, Bandit.
Megan Sparrow
Meg is one of the Field Ecologists for Science for Wildlife. Having completed a Masters of Conservation Biology at Macquarie University, she moved to Africa where she undertook heavily camera trap-based research on endangered wildlife, including carnivores and megafauna. Her hobbies include crocheting and pottering around the garden.
Sophie Hall
Sophie is one of the Field Ecologists with Science for Wildlife. Sophie has previously worked with the NSW Koala Strategy to do koala surveys with thermal drones for better habitat mapping. She enjoys reading in her spare time and has a love of travelling.
Lauren O'Brien
Lauren is one of the Conservation Ecologists with Science for Wildlife. Lauren completed her PhD at the University of Technology Sydney where she also spent 2 years as a postdoctoral researcher investigating the impact of river regulation and management on the microbial food web.
