    About Surgical Tool Marking

With Surgical Tool Marker you can help to improve digital tools in the operating room, and facilitate better and safer surgeries.

Today there are 5 billion people without access to safe surgical services. Surgical disease causes more death worldwide than HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria combined. Digital technology will enable surgeons to deliver safe surgical care for everyone in the very near future. Digital tools will help surgeons learn, prepare and test on surgical procedures, anytime, anywhere.

The first step to building life-saving surgical algorithms is creating carefully annotated datasets. Images and videos where surgical tools have been marked clearly allow researchers to train algorithms to recognise surgical tools. This will immensely speed up the creation of appliances that help surgeons prepare for operations and to assess their performance in the operating room.
