This study investigates the impact of drought and climate change on key terrestrial species at the 5896-acre Sedgwick Reserve in southern California.
The project is a collaborative effort between University of California Santa Barbara’s Computer Science Department and the UC Natural Reserve System. Our goals are to make advancements in trail camera deployment and image processing to help climate scientists better understand how drought affects wildlife.
Your help is valuable to us. You can do this by simply spying on the secret lives of our largely day active animals, when you might be lucky enough to spot a mountain lion having a drink, an American black bear taking a nap, or the nemesis of the Reserve, non-native pigs, fouling the wallow.
You can help us by telling us what you see in an image. Occasionally you’ll see a gem of an image that we’d like you to flag. It’s as easy as that.
