With this project, we want to gather data that will help us to build the new catalogue of the IsIAO Photographic Archive, and to foster an informed, thoughtful discussion. Some images may be upsetting to individuals and communities directly or indirectly affected by the events depicted.
ISMEO - Associazione Internazionale di Studi per il Mediterraneo e l'Oriente (International Association for Mediterranean and Oriental Studies) was founded in 2012 with the aim of continuing the scientific work of the now-dissolved IsIAO. In collaboration with the Museo delle Civiltà (MuCiv) and the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma (BNCR), it manages and promotes its vast documentary, archival, bibliographic, cartographic, museum, and photographic heritage.
Archivi IsMEO-IsIAO is a platform for the description and publication of the non-book and manuscript materials of the IsIAO collections, currently preserved at the National Central Library of Rome and the Museum of Civilizations.
This project, in particular, is developed and overseen by:
