Transcribing Ruskin's handwriting can be tricky. Please don't be discouraged if you find that to be the case. All transcriptions will be checked by experienced researchers, so please just transcribe as much of each page as you can.
Previous experience of reading and transcribing nineteenth-century handwriting would be helpful, but it's not a requirement. The more time you spend reading Ruskin's writing, the more familiar you'll become with it. Please also see the Tips for Transcribing, in the Field Guide.
The transcription task is best approached using a standard desktop computer or laptop with a mouse or trackpad, rather than a touchscreen device.
