The data set for this special project is composed of photos that have been classified as bird. The first step is to determine whether each photo contains common or uncommon species and identify evidence of breeding. If you select "uncommon species," you may then identify the species using the drop-down menu that appears after you click "Next." If you did not select uncommon species, you can skip the drop-down menu by clicking "Done." Click "Done and Talk" if you would like to share the image!

Snapshot Wisconsin is a wildlife monitoring project utilizing statewide network of 2,000 trail cameras. The main project (snapshotwisconsin.org) allows users to classify animal photos into over 40 categories. One of these categories is a catchall for non-game birds. This special project is in collaboration with the Wisconsin Breeding Bird Atlas II aims to sort these bird photos into more specific categories so that the data is readily available for the Natural Heritage Conservation and other interested groups.
